Popular culture and the American culture are closely related. Films, music, books, poetry, and fashion tap into what is occurring in American society. This was definitely the case after September 11th. The tragedies affected all aspects of pop culture. This section of Mediating Terrorism deals with American popular culture over the last 20 years, and the effect terrorism has had on it. There are 5 categories:
